A real example
“I need a housing. Mine cracked.”
A two-bolt flange housing is one piece of a mounted bearing. When the housing cracks, the insert, adapter sleeve and locknut inside it should be replaced too. An expert knows that. A new rep usually doesn’t.
Search the housing number online and the listings contradict each other: the same number sold as a bare housing or as a complete bearing in different bore sizes.
